Biography
David C. Metz was born and raised in Illinois and earned an English degree from Illinois State University. Following graduation he was drafted and served for two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. After his stint in the Army, he and his wife moved to the Washington, D.C. area. He earned a law degree from George Mason University School of Law (before it became the Antonin Scalia Law School) and worked as a lawyer for various technology companies. Along the way he also worked as a busboy, a dishwasher, a proofreader, and a contract specialist and Contracting Officer for the Federal government. He published his first stories in his college literary magazine, The Triangle. In recent years his stories have appeared in several literary magazines, including The MacGuffin, New Plains Review, Bull, Valparaiso Fiction Review and Perceptions. His first story collection, Nick and Lorraine Were Lovers, is due to be published by Apprentice House Press in April, 2025.
